Individual, hybrid, or volume lashes--what's the REAL difference?

So you've decided that you're getting lash extensions but with so many options the only question is: What's the difference between Classic, Hybrid, or Volume lashes?


Choosing the right lash service depends on the desired look and your own personal maintenance preferences. In other words, How much time are you willing to invest into yourself?


A primer on classic, hybrid, & volume lashes
Individual vs Hybrid vs Volume Lashes

Classic lashes (.10, .12, or .15 weight) are applied one-to-one with natural lashes, giving a natural look or mascara effect. They are very low maintenance, requiring only a regular shampoo schedule to keep your lashes healthy and clean.


Hybrid lashes (.05, .07, or .10 weight) are a combination of classic and volume lashes which (on average) will result in a lash line that is about 25% fuller and create a textured, wispy look. This is still a relatively low-maintenance look--still requiring regular shampooing but periodic at-home treatment with lash serum should be added to strengthen and nourish the lash line.


Volume lashes (.03, .05 weight) & Mega Volume (.02, .03, .05 weight)--(aka "Russian Lashes--are a type of eyelash extension application that involves using multiples of thin lashes to create a "fan" which is then applied to each natural lash. This technique creates a fuller, more dramatic look than traditional lash extensions. These are the Differences between individual hybrid or volume lashes. A daily cleanliness routine is required, as well as daily nourishment with lash serum to maintain and promote lash health.
